E90 330i's are great cars for the money. A friend of mine has one and drives it everyday without a problem. If you do not want to deal with the fuel pump issues with the 335i, I would definitely get the 330i.
Steps: Took it to the dealer they fix it the first time. But after a few days again the same problem. They hold my car for 4 days, and finally they told me that a faulty valve create the problem, and there exist a service bulletin about that and probably affect all the E90. Yesterday, I finally got my car back.
My understanding is that the electric water pump can fail as the car approaches 100k, which can cost almost $1k. Also, some of the early 330i will experience excessive engine ticking, which requires head replacement. Aside from those two issues, these cars appear to be quite reliable.

BMW may have deactivated this feature. You will NOT have these common E46 problems: window regulator failures, fragile sunshade clips, Climate Control (Final Stage Resistor), Cam Sensor. If you have sport pkg you might want to upsize tire height by 5% 225/40 --> 225/45, 255/35 --> 255/40.
It takes TIME and to do a proper diagnosis as you need to install UV Dye into the system (which a DIY'er can do with a $15 "Can Tap" with Gauge, and a $10 can of R-134a refrigerant with Dye included). You then have to drive the car for a week or two and THEN check for leaks using special UV glasses and a "black light" (<$20).
